How are different parts of the cerebrum associated with various behaviors?
The Cerebrum is in charge of the conscious thought we have and the language and voluntary movement. The Cerebellum is in charge of the balance and the posture we have. The large upper part of the brain that is the cerebrum, is responsible for complex reasoning, thought, language, voluntary movement, and the initial processing of sensations.
The cerebrum has two different parts called the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere, each hemisphere controls certain behaviors on the brain. For example the left side of the body is controlled by the right hemisphere, and the right side is controlled by the left hemisphere. The part that’s in charge of controlling your movements is called the motor cortex. The part that is in charge of moving of your body letting you feel sensations is called the sensory cortex. Scientist have been able to study a lot of parts of the motor cortex and the sensory cortex, they know which part is sending the command when you move or feel something.
